Thrift stores are my favorite because you are bound to find hidden treasures if you are willing to take the time and look. I found these ugly salt and pepper shakers for $1.00 at one of the local thrift stores here in Visalia. First I started off by scrubbing them clean and then sanding off the ugly brown. Finally, I spray painted them with this fantastic teal paint. Never pass up ugly shakers.
